On September 27, SMPS Michigan will bring together content experts, principals, technical professionals, business developers, and marketers for an educational event focused on building not only your personal leadership position in your market, but your company's position in the AEC industry. No matter whether your firm is small or large, if you’re a technical professional or a marketer, or even if you are a sole practitioner, this all-day session is for you. Over the course of the day, you will:

01. Learn how to truly differentiate your firm, and yourself, from the competition.You will be exposed to cutting-edge research, best practices, benchmarks, and marketing and business development ideas—information not available anywhere else—to position your firm more solidly in your markets.

02. Leverage best practices in strategic planning, marketing and business development techniques. Using these scalable approaches, you will be able to develop a tailored approach for your firm or career.

03. Identify partnering opportunities, and strengthen relationships you already have. The conference will give you a chance to build critical relationships and access the connections among SMPS and other partnering organizations throughout the industry that are attending the session.

04. Secure business intelligence. During conversations, presentations, and Q&A, you will discover what others know about upcoming projects and opportunities to win work.

05. Learn from Industry Experts. A line-up of national speakers from around the country with experience in various size firms will share their ideas, knowledge and charisma on thought-provoking topics with real world application.

Kurt's experiences as a professional athlete, bestselling author, corporate keynote speaker, counselor, adjunct professor, and transition consultant to world class athletes provides him the skill to support highly successful individuals, organizations, and businesses that at times face challenges with positive leadership, resolving conflict, and change/transition.

A 14-year veteran, Jennifer has seen many proposals – some of them the worst a potential client could come up with. With a focus on graphic design, she has spent her career honing in on how to present information to clients in a clear, graphically eye-catching way. Her presentation will focus on everything from the basics of proposal design, to tips and tricks for senior level marketers, business developers, and technical staff to create a clear message without loading your client down with endless paragraphs. Prepare to feel uncomfortable; she’s not afraid of white space.

As an experienced A/E/C, professional services and B2B marketer, Ben helps companies successfully leverage technology and digital marketing to enter new markets and grow in the ones they are in. His passion is helping companies truly understand and connect with their buyers to capture new leads and nurture those leads to finally becoming a customer. Ben holds a BA in Marketing and a BFA in Design from Marietta College, as well as, numerous HubSpot certifications for inbound marketing, and has been the Ann Arbor HubSpot User Group Leader.

Marisa is a Professional Entrepreneurial Operating System Implementer, speaker and entrepreneur who is passionate about helping entrepreneurs and leadership teams get better at three things: Vision, Traction, and Healthy. She uses the Entrepreneurial Operating System process and tools to help business leaders learn to strengthen the Six Key Components of their businesses. Marisa also serves on the leadership team of EOS Worldwide, is a popular speaker and trainer, and is the author of Get Sales and Marketing Traction with Inbound.
